These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Potluck(“Potluck”, “we”, “us”), operated by an individual based in Indonesia. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Potluck.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Potluck. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
2. Your account
You sign in to Potluck using your Google account. You are responsible for keeping access to that account secure and for all activity that happens under your Potluck account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
3. What Potluck is — and isn't
Potluck is a tool for recording shared group spending: it tracks who paid what toward shared expenses and shows per-person and per-category totals. The amounts you enter are informal records that you and your groupmates keep for your own convenience.
Potluck is not a payment service, bank, lender, or financial, accounting or legal advisor. It does not move money, settle debts, or calculate who owes whom. Any real-world settling up happens entirely outside the app, between you and the people you share expenses with. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you record.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Potluck for any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose;
- upload content that is illegal, abusive, harassing, hateful, or that infringes others’ rights;
- attempt to access data, accounts or groups you are not authorized to access;
- probe, scan, overload, disrupt or circumvent the security of the service;
- scrape, copy or resell the service or its data, or use it to build a competing product;
- impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you create in Potluck (your expenses, notes, group names and so on). You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display that content as needed to operate the app and provide it to you and the members of your groups. You are responsible for the content you add and confirm you have the right to share it.
6. Groups and other users
Potluck is a shared ledger. When you add an expense to a group, the contribution amounts become part of that group’s shared record and are visible to its members. If you leave a group or delete your account, the amounts you contributed remain in the group (in anonymized form) so that other members’ totals stay accurate, as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Intellectual property
The Potluck name, logo, design and software are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding without our permission.
8. Third-party services
Potluck relies on third-party services (including Google for sign-in, and our hosting and infrastructure providers). Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for them.
9. Availability and changes to the service
Potluck is provided free of charge. We may add, change, suspend or discontinue features at any time, and we do not guarantee that the service will always be available or uninterrupted.
10. Disclaimers
Potluck is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be error- free or that the records it stores are accurate or complete — those depend on what you and your groupmates enter.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Potluck and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Potluck and its operator from any claims, damages or expenses arising out of your misuse of the service or your breach of these Terms.
13. Termination
You may stop using Potluck and delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the service in a way that could harm other users or the service.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of Potluck after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your own country of residence are not affected.
16. General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, make up the entire agreement between you and us regarding Potluck.
